Back in 1974, Gus Carlson started selling pressure washers out of his garage to many of the local farming communities that surrounded Austin, Texas. The next year, Mr. Carlson opened up his business on Nuckols Crossing Road, the site of a former dairy farm. Over the years, Mr. Carlson grew his business into a thriving industrial cleaning equipment company and became the industry leader in Central Texas.

As the years went on, he and his staff developed their own line of industrial detergents that are still top sellers today. He expanded his service area to include San Antonio, and opened a store there as well. Many of his former employees have gone on to be successful executives in the cleaning equipment industry. In 1987, he hired Bob Schultz right out of the Navy as a service technician. Bob immediately took to the industry, and after six years of service experience, he moved into a sales position.
In 1996, Mr. Carlson sold the business to the Hotsy Corporation and retired. Bob was hired on as store manager and managed the location in Austin for three years. The Hotsy Corporation ran several company-owned stores until they decided to return the dealerships to private ownership in 1999. At that time, Bob stepped up to the plate and decided to become a business owner.

Since purchasing the business, Mr. Schultz has grown the business into three locations, each providing top-quality service and products. He takes great pride in providing the best customer service and products each and every time. His personal motto is “commitment to excellence,” and it shows in every interaction customers have with the entire Hotsy Carlson team.
